We will have more clouds, wind, and showers today.
Easterly winds will increase to 10-20 mph, with stronger gusts.
There will also be high clouds over the state, which will filter out sunshine.
Moisture moving in from the east will also increase showers, especially for windward and mauka spots. Some of the showers could be heavy and there is the threat of thunderstorms by the afternoon, as the atmosphere over the state becomes more unstable.
Afternoon highs will also be a little cooler, thanks to the additional clouds and showers in the forecast, reaching the mid-80s.
A trough of low pressure will linger across the island chain today through Monday, while an upper level low moves overhead. This will produce very unstable conditions across the state, bringing the potential for periods of heavy rainfall and flash flooding.
The National Weather Service has ISSUED a FLASH FLOOD WATCH for MAUI COUNTY, in effect until Monday afternoon.
