Search Warrant Leads to Arrests, Drugs, and More Than $16K in Cash

On Monday, officers from the Maui Police Department Vice Division Narcotics Unit executed search warrants on 33-year-old Bronsen Rodrigues at his residence located on Kauhikoa Road in Haiku. Also located at the residence was an adult female identified as 56 year old Leyette Rodrigues.

As a result of the search, 582.70 grams (1.28 pounds) of crystal methamphetamine, $16,962.00 in United States currency, 1.22 grams of marijuana, a 12 gauge shotgun, twenty-five rounds of 12 gauge ammunition, over 400 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, over 150 rounds of .45 caliber ammunition, and 20 rounds of .303 caliber ammunition. Also discovered were drug paraphernalia associated with the use and distribution of crystal methamphetamine.

Bronsen Rodrigues was arrested and charged for the offenses of Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the First Degree, Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree, Promoting a Detrimental Drug in the Third Degree, Use of a Firearm in a Felony Drug Offense, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Prohibited Acts Related to Drug Paraphernalia. His bail was set by the court at $150,000.00, cash only.

Leyette Rodrigues was arrested for the offense of Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the First Degree, Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree, and Promoting a Detrimental Drug in the Third Degree. Leyette Rodrigues was released pending further investigation.
